NTP time synchronization and pool.ntp.org
NTP
This is a service for NTP clients to access a NTP server (strata 1?) via Round Robin DNS.
NTP time synchronization and Windows XP as a server
NTP, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Linux
Windows XP can provide SNTP service. Check the
description from Microsoft. But can this work for client linux computers using ntpd? Correction may take 2000 seconds per second that the client is off, or so says some official NTP home page.
In a jiffy, for Linux computers you can force the date to be updated with this command:
date "MMDDHHMM.ss"
IME Watcher for Windows XP
Windows XP, IME
This tray notification icon application makes the Windows XP IME bar disappear and brings back the Windows 2000 IME tray notification icon. Very handy.
Backflip
Internet Browsing
Backflip is a site that saves your bookmarks. It uses the ingenous method of bookmarklets (javascript saved in a bookmark) to save your visits. Personally I would have liked an intergrated toolbar method but this should work on all browsers.
However the import bookmarks function does not work for me.
Subversion doesn't commit in colinux (explanation)
Colinux, Subversion
Whne you do an svn commit, you may find that it does not complete and it seems to hang. This is because /dev/random is linked to activity in the fltk consol.
[Written by: lsg] In colinux sometimes you may find some cryptographic applications freezing. This is due to the lack of randomness availiable to /dev/random. The solution is to open up the fltk console and type random charecters into it.
Synergy a VNC/RDP like thingy
